pelvic floor feel Learning to

In short: Barely feeling your pelvic floor is completely normal. It sits deep and is rarely consciously activated in everyday life. But awareness is the basis for any effective training. It can be built up gently, and targeted activation makes it easier.

Overview

Why awareness comes first first

With a biceps you can see what's moving. The pelvic floor, on the other hand, sits hidden, you can neither see it nor easily feel it. If you can't feel it, you don't know whether you're working the right muscle. That's exactly why sensible pelvic floor training starts with awareness: feel it first, then strengthen it in a targeted way.

A gentle approach

General guidance (not a training plan)

1

Sit calmly

Take a relaxed, upright position and keep breathing calmly, don't hold your breath.

2

Lift gently

Imagine gently lifting something "inward and up", without strongly tensing your belly, bottom or legs.

3

Don't push

No pushing, no straining. Less is more; the movement is small and subtle.

4

Get support

If you're unsure or have complaints, seek professional guidance, it makes the difference.

These are only general tips, not an individual training plan. With pain, after birth or surgery, please coordinate with a doctor or specialist. Basics: What is the pelvic floor?

How MyPelvi helps

Feel it, without having to find it.

The biggest advantage of targeted activation: you don't have to "find" the muscle yourself. MyPelvi activates the pelvic floor from the outside: you sit fully clothed for 22 minutes, supported by trained staff. That way you experience which area is meant, and gradually build up a better awareness. MyPelvi is not a substitute for medical treatment and makes no promises of cure.

Frequently asked questions

Honest answers about awareness.

Why can't I feel my pelvic floor?+
The pelvic floor sits deep and is rarely consciously activated in everyday life. Many people have never learned to tense it in a targeted way. That's completely normal and can be practised.
How do I find the pelvic floor?+
A common image is to gently lift something "inward and up", without strongly tensing your belly, bottom or thighs. The key is not to push. If you're unsure, professional guidance helps.
Why is the training often difficult?+
When you barely feel the muscle, it's unclear whether you're training correctly. That's why awareness comes first: it's the basis for effective training.
How does MyPelvi help with awareness?+
MyPelvi activates the pelvic floor from the outside in a targeted way: you sit fully clothed for 22 minutes. That way you feel which area is meant, without having to "find" it yourself.
Should I push while practising?+
No. Pushing or holding your breath is counterproductive. Calm, continuous breathing matters. With pain or uncertainty, please get it checked by a specialist.
When will I notice progress?+
It's individual. Consistency is key. MyPelvi makes no promises of a cure. The goal is better awareness and strength over time.
What does it cost to get started?+
The first appointment (trial session) is free and non-binding. Other prices vary by location.
